Girl Crush - Sally Field

Don't you love Sally Field?!  I find her to be totally awesome on multiple levels - as a human being, as an actor and I think she always looks pretty and looks age-appropriate.  I don't feel like she looks plastic or like she has been under the knife - she just looks like a beautiful woman to me and I love that.
Miss Sally back in the day
I feel like this is classic Sally Field - liner all the way around the eye, a present but soft lip, a bit of blush to emphasize her apples and slightly messy hair - and I fully support slightly messy hair!
Right?  This is her jam.

Love this - a soft updo, defined brow and a raspberry lip.

Hair's a little longer in this one, looking sexy-lady, pretty good for 67! (pretty good for 47!)

A little more polished with very even ends in her hair

More flowy hair wise with a soft bend

A little bit of a flip and a rhubarb lip

Choppy layers and a flatiron make her look very modern

Such pretty lace!  Totally not the focus of this blog but so pretty.  Okay - love the lip/cheek.

Fun New Makeup Goodies

To me, summer is time for bright colors that pop on cheeks and lips and soft shimmery eyes.  Here are some of the latest and greatest:

Bite Beauty - 15 Shades of Sephora - their lipglosses are awesome because they're petrochemical-free and you get 15 for $48 which is pretty sweet.  Also sweet are the strawberry, blackcurrant, raspberry, coconut, apricot, and avocado oils that make up the yummy formula.

I am obsessed with the juicy colors in Josie Maran's new Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelees ($22) - SO pretty!!  They're in pots which is mildly annoying but just make sure your hands are clean and they'll stay quite well through the day.

If you prefer your pop of color to be on the lip Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics has new colors in their Lip Tar - Stained Glosses ($18).  Petrochemical-free and minty fresh they can be sheer or SERIOUS depending on your application (I wrote about him back in July of 2005 - nuts!  You can read it HERE - David's line is the third line mentioned in the article).

How perfect is this eyeshadow compact for summer?  Chantecaille always does something philanthropic with their shadow sets and this year it's Save The Sharks ($83) benefiting the BLOOM Association to ban unregulated shark fin trade.

And it isn't new but Bobbi Brown's Long-Wearing Cream Shadows ($24) are the shadows that hold out longest on me that aren't powder - I'm a fan of shades like Beach Honey, Beach Bronze and Copper, depending on your skintone.  Just one swipe across the lid and you're done!

Fun Feature for Erin's Faces Monoi Goodies!

You guys - I am feeling terribly fancy and I'd love to share the reason why with you.

As you know, I launched my Organic Monoi Tiari Body Lotion and Body Sugar Scrub this summer and, as you also know, the Monoi Oil that I use is totally legit and flown in direct from Tahiti.

SO, the Monoi Oil Distributer I use has a feature on a leading Tahitian website and they chose to share that Erin's Faces is one of their "patrons" alongside NARS and Carol's Daughter.  WHAT?!!!  You guys - as you'll read below - there are over 300 companies that use the official Monoi Oil from Tahiti - 300!  So yes, yours truly is in an article with those two HUGE companies (can Carol Alt's line - hello!) and I'm just kind of feeling fancy about it so I wanted to include you in my excitement :).

The article is HERE but it's in French so here's the translation:

"Naturally Beautiful" on Veria Living Sneak Peek!

Hi guys!

So back this past winter I shot a couple of spots on Veria Living's newest show, "Naturally Beautiful", and it was so much fun!

Well the bad news is that it isn't airing til September, but the good news is that they shot a Sneak Peek Video for the network and I made it in there!  I'm in at about 10 seconds in saying something or other about organic/natural makeup.

Check it out!  http://www.kaltura.com/index.php/extwidget/openGraph/wid/1_hs7yhy2d

Tony Award Beauties of 2013

  • Valisia LeKae in Esosa, Jane Krakowski in Escada, Bernadette Peters in Donna Karan Atelier, Angela Bassett in Theia, Sienna Miller in Burberry Prorsum, Patina Miller in Zac Posen, Martha Plimpton in Lorena Sarbu, Sigourney Weaver in Michael Kors, Audra McDonald in David Meister, Anna Kendrick in Donna Karen Atelier
Did you guys watch the Tony Awards last night?!!  They were AMAZING!!  Possibly my favorite year for them ever if you didn't see them at least watch the Opening Number (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BraXq07kkM) and this number about being on a TV series vs. Broadway (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyAOZi7nbko).

Okay - on the pretty ladies!

I specifically enjoyed Carolee Carmelo's lipshade choice and glowing fair skin.

Debra Messing went Mad Men with her topknot, "pulled out" smoky  eye and nude lip.

Stephanie Block looked classic in her softly smoky eyes, strong brow and berry lip.

Tony-Award winner, Patina Miller, worked a smoky eye in cool grey tones to match her dress and a berry lip.

Red was the choice for Tony Winner Cyndi Lauper's hair and fire engine mouth.

Tony Winner Andrea Miller was one of my favorite beauties of the evening!  I loved her neutral on the lid, smoke on the corner eye, slight blush to the cheek and raspberry lip - my kind of look!

Megan Hilty's makeup always looks good to me and last night was no exception - glowy skin and a watermelon lip - yes please!
Cicely Tyson looking beautiful with her wisteria hued shadow, strong liner, plum blush and raspberry lips.

Anna Kendrick worked a SERIOUS smoky eye with liner all the way around.

Old school glamour was Annaleigh Ashford's MO with her soft waves, bold lip and lashes.

Bernadette Peters always looks amazing to me - whatever she does, I like it :).

Audra McDonald with some serious lashes and a nude shiny lip - love.

Alright - minor discussion, I think that Laura Osnes was wearing a wig - do we agree?  If so it must have been for her "Cinderella" performance but I thought that was interesting (you can see the lace - I think - on the right).  And her makeup looks BEAUTIFUL - clean and fresh - perfect!

Condola Rashad, Phylicia's daughter, worked a beautiful eggplant smoky eye and a soft lip.

I met Jane Lynch once when I was working in a Sephora and helped her find a brow powder (she was incredibly nice!)  and her brows look great in this shot!  As do her smoky eyes - smoky eyes were a theme of the night.

Case in point the tre-glam Jane Krakowski who looked STUNNING - lashes, lots of black shadow but  lightness on the inner corner with a strong brow - loved this look.

I thought Laura Benanti looked so pretty - she's fun because she can look  soft and beachy like she does here or she can pull super glam - I enjoy her.

A brick red lip was Scarlett Johansson's main accessory.

Sigourney Weaver looked gorgeous last night!  From top to bottom I just thought she looked beautiful.  And Patricia Clarkson worked her trademark red lip and looked lovely as well.

I always think Sally Field's makeup looks pretty - love some glowy skin ya'll.

Valisia Lekae chose lavender shadows and a pinky blush to go with her purple dress.

Sophia Gennusa, Bailey Ryon, Oona Laurence and Milly Shapiro of "Matilda" show the next generation of Broadway ladies and look perfect doing it.
