Anticipating Summer

I am off to California this coming week to share Erin's Faces with the West Coast which is inspiring my anticipation of summer and some of my favorite products!

Earth Therapeutics' Refreshing Foot Scrub smells like Wrigley's Spearmint Gum and buffs off all of the dead skin our feet endure once we start donning summer sandals.  It's cheap and it works.

Goe Oil is super thick stuff that smells like Gardenias and Coconut Oil and is FULL of 28 plant, fruit and flower oils and butters.  It's amazing on heels that get cracked out from wearing flip flops on the funky NYC streets.  It's also pretty great to address your split ends straight out of the shower - added bonus.

I love what sea salt sprays do to my hair in the summer - pretty, beachy, carefree hair situations.  But the salt dries me out a LOT so when I found Bumble and bumble's Curl Conscious Reactivating Mist I was VERY happy!  It encourages the natural wave you have in your hair and gives me the same finish as a salt spray but with none of the dryness.

I have some friends who are very opinionated about when you can start wearing "summer fragrances" but once it's warm outside I am totally on board.  I love the Sand & Saltwater Perfume Oil from Lemon Citrus' shop on Etsy (click HERE to see the item).  It smells like the beach minus the coconut - if you know Bobbi Brown's fragrance Beach, it's really similar to that but about 1/4 of the price.  She has samplers where you can try a few baby samples at a time to "try before you buy" - it's fun :).

Organic Eye Gel Giveaway!

Folks!  I just came out with my new Organic Firming Eye Gel and I am totally in love with it!

I looked for a formula for a LONG time that was Aloe Vera based but so many of them are just that - expensive Aloe Vera Gel which is no bueno.  I wanted one that depuffed and was anti-aging, not just something that felt good.

SO, I found it!  This formula has the Aloe Vera I wanted as the base (feels so cooling and yummy), Witch Hazel to depuff and tighten/firm (a Dr. Oz approved ingredient), and ProVitamin B5 and DMAE (crazy anti-aging) to keep you young and pretty.  It's great in the morning if your concealer tends to crease up on you from your eye cream and I layer it under my eye cream at night.

It's organic, HUGE (1 oz.) and a great deal at $25 (click HERE to see where to get it).  Best of all I am giving one away!

Here's how to enter the drawing:
For one entry:  "Like" Erin's Faces on Facebook and let me know that you did in the comment section below (or let me know you already "like" Erin's Faces)

For a second entry: Go to Erin's Faces, pick a favorite product and let me know what it is in the comment section below.

Entries open only to subscribers of Erin's Faces Blog

The giveaway will be open through Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at midnight EST and is open only to readers over the age of 18 and those living in the lower 48 states. A winner will be randomly chosen and announced on Thursday, April 19, 2012. Good luck!!

Current Obsession - Laura Mercier Makeup Case

You guys - I had a client today and she had THE COOLEST travel makeup situation I have seen in a long time.  It's by Laura Mercier and it is awesome and I want one.

Isn't it pretty?
It's a hardcase so it can get banged around and your goodies won't break (as easily anyhow) and the color is pretty - a silver/gold/slightly purple cast - anyhow, pretty.

So you zip it open and there is an insert (that also unzips out so you can move them) for your brushes - and I mean like a lot of brushes (which you know I am a fan of).  It also has four mesh zipper bags of different sizes (one for pencils/mascara, one for lips, one for complexion sized things like foundation/tinted moisturizer, and one for eyeshadows/blushes).  They each have a magnetic insert and the case is magnetized so they STICK TO THE CASE!  What?!  But then they can get pulled out and put in your purse or opened up just to use in general.  It's 11.5 x 9.5 x 3 inches.

It also comes with an empty three well compact and an empty six well compact that you can fill but I am just in love with the mesh bags/magnetic/brush/hard case story they're telling.  I think I might go get one :).

Makeup How-To Videos - Fresh Face

Okay guys, so I bit the bullet.  I made some How-To makeup videos.  I have been asked to do them for a while and I just got a new computer so they’re VERY BASIC folks – no fancy speedups – just me doing my makeup and talking you through the steps.

My hope is that they will be useful and will help people. Please forgive the copious amounts of powder that are swirling around in the air in them as well as a not-terribly-clean kitchen in the background. My husband, Daniel, was playing Grocery Bingo which benefitted a local school (yes he was surrounded by women in their 80’s who are VERY SERIOUS about their Bingo) and his winnings were still spread on the kitchen counter.
Anyhow – please check out any or all videos and send me requests for future ones! Smoky eyes are definitely on the docket!
There are five of them all detailing every step of my basic Fresh Face look:
